Different Condo Types: Which Is Most Appropriate For You

Are you on the lookout for condominiums? There are many advantages to owning a condominium versus renting a regular apartment. For one, condominiums offer a variety of amenities that are owned cooperatively by all of the condo owners. A swimming pool is pretty basic but many condominium owners also have other amenities available for them such as racquetball courts, gas grills, community gathering rooms and gyms.

There are different types of condominiums and choosing which of these types is most appropriate for you, plays a big factor in the buying decision.

High-rise Condo – this type of condominiums offer fine views from the top floor, lobbies with secured access and elevators. Fees on these type of buildings are much higher compared with the other types of condos because of bigger maintenance requirements.

Mid-rise Condo – this type of buildings are usually about 4-6 stories high. Mid-rise condominiums are often more affordable than their high rise counterparts. This is often because mid rise condominiums are sometimes less luxurious than high rise condominiums. A mid rise condo also often offer less amenities and facilities. You will also spend less time in the elevators because of fewer floors. This means you can get to your unit and to the ground floor in less time.

Low-rise Condo – this type of condominiums give a quiet surroundings to enjoy your life privately. With its basic amenities, you get low maintenance fees & affordable association dues. Low-rise means low risk in fire & earthquake too and if there is fire you can easily escape or go out safely using emergency exits or the common stairs located usually behind the elevator.

With the moving lifestyle of this interrelated world, people these days place more value on convenience, functional design and efficiency. At the same time, they give a high importance to privacy, quality time, good aesthetic and a healthy environment.

When searching for a condo it is best to look at a variety of layouts to get a feel for what will work best for you.
